Principal David Brooks takes great pride in being a devoted husband and father to three remarkable children. His journey in the field of K-12 education began when he assumed the role of an elementary teacher at Detroit Leadership Academy. In 2013, he transitioned to BPS for a math teacher role at Berkshire Middle School. Principal Brooks further advanced his career by serving as assistant principal and athletic director at Berkshire. Finally, in 2020, he achieved his ultimate goal of becoming the esteemed principal of Lincoln Street Alternative.

Principal Brooks holds a firm belief in the potency of positive connections and their ability to alter the course of a student's life and educational journey. He has a profound passion for creating educational environments that cater to the individual circumstances of each student. Principal Brooks recognizes and values the distinct talents and diverse backgrounds that students bring, as they contribute to the richness of the school community.
